I love Christmas music! I could listen to it all year, although I don't. I usually have a little Christmas music craving in the middle of July and then I put the Cd's away again until the day after Halloween. We put the Christmas tree and most of the decorations away over the weekend, but out Christmas Cd's are still front and center. We listen to them every day.
Today Tyler was cozying in our bed listening to Christmas movie music. You know that song from "Santa Claus is coming to town" that goes "...just put one foot in front of the other..."? Ty loves this song and so I put it on repeat. He has been singing it around the house as he plays with his toys. I love the message it is teaching him. What a great attitude for a new year!
I'm so giddy for Tyler right now! This is going to be his favorite blog post to go back to for forever! I'll include the lyrics also so we can have all the words somewhere I'll be able to find next year. :)
Put One Foot In Front Of The Other
Lyrics by Bass, Jules
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking out the door
You never will get where you’re going
If you never get up on your feet
Come on, there’s a good tail wind blowing
A fast walking man is hard to beat
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking out the door
If you want to change your direction
If your time of life is at hand
Well don’t be the rule be the exception
A good way to start is to stand
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking cross the floor
Put one foot in front of the other
And soon you’ll be walking out the door
If I want to change the reflection
I see in the mirror each morn
You mean that it's just my election
To vote for a chance to be reborn
(repeat chorus twice)
Travis took Justin out to lunch one day last week to celebrate his Jackson Jaguar with his free meal coupon at a pizza place. Then he got to help Dad take the van to the car wash. Big fun for Justin and Tyler is glad he didn't get roped into going because he's terrified of it. While they were gone, Ty and I got out our guitars and played Christmas songs. We sang at the top of our lungs for about an hour. I love that he is my little musical guy. He was strumming away on his ukulele and singing every single song with me. So cute. I really need to get that on video. We stopped for lunch and he wanted to do it again as soon as we were done eating. It's so much fun to have a little guitar buddy.
Here's a picture from summer 2007 of me and my ukulele boys:
