Happy

Hatu. I remember calling it that in grade school. The boys and I are looking forward to coming for a visit. Yes, in August. I don't want to be here alone while Travis is in Japan. Also, Amber is just about ready to have her baby and I am excited to hold that baby and let all the cousins play together. I want to see my blogging buddies, too. So, let's plan something.

Co-ed. I'm playing on a city league softball team with Travis and some of our friends. We are called the "Pirates". Lots of fun and lots of pain. I have used muscles that have been on vacation for a while. I keep forgetting to stretch out first. I'll have to make a note of that for our next game. And no catching the ball with my hand through the mitt. Ouch!

Sequels. I'm in such suspense! I have been sucked into "Twilight" this past week and have been sneaking a page here and there throughout my days. I would hear Travis coming down the hall and hurry to put the book away and act like I was folding laundry or something so he won't make fun of me. I finished the book last night and I am so anxious to read the second book! I know, so silly that it has taken me so long to start reading these books. I'm trying to get Travis to start reading the series so I can read #2 in peace. But, he says he has never heard of another guy reading these books. Hmmm...I have to agree...so, that pretty much means it is not going to happen. Help, do you know of a really great series a tough guy like Travis would like?

Jets.
We live about a mile from the airport and get a pretty good view of the annual air show from our house. The Patriot Jets came to fly in the air show this year.

We didn't buy tickets this year. We just went on tons of bike rides to the parks nearby to play while we oohed at all those airplane loopty-loops. This picture cracks me up. You'll have to click on it to see their expressions as Tyler has no idea Justin is ready to SMASH! CRASH! Justin is SO ready to get rid of those training wheels. Maybe that will be our next big post.

Here's a picture of our front-row view of "The Patriot Jets" flying over our house.

Our whole house shakes and it is so loud. I always wonder if those pilots ever look in people's windows...

Olympics. I loved the drummer boys at the opening ceremony. And I have NEVER seen so many fireworks. Those people in the stadium were missing out. That was amazing! We have been watching some of the events and our DVR is stuffed with more to watch at our leisure. I love that.

I love watching the gymnastics and diving events. Here's another deep thought: I've always wondered if there are scuba diving cameramen under the Olympics swimming races. Is that how those swimmers "know" they are about to crash into the finish line wall? They never seem to look up. Do they see the little scuba guy perched on the bottom of the pool? The funny thing is that this had been on my mind ever since I did the same thing while swimming backwards with Tyler during Justin's swimming lesson. Don't try this at home. It hurts.

Wowsers! I'm watching the Men's 100 Backstroke right now and a guy just miscalculated the finish-line wall and ran into it with his head. They just replayed it in slow motion. My silly question doesn't sound so silly anymore, huh?

I know, dorky thoughts, but I still want to know...where else would I ask them if not for the blog?

I've wondered about those camera angels at the Olympics, too. I'm so sad I missed the Opening Ceremonies -- I keep hearing that it was great.

So when will you be in Utah? I'll be there from Wed - Sunday of this week, but I'm guessing you'll be there later. :( So sad to barely miss you!

This post had me laughing! I just adore you Kayelynn! My Brother in law is reading the Twilight series, I don't know if he likes it yet. Lincoln knows tons of good books. I'll ask him. I know he will say Ender's game though. (I hope that is how you spell it.)

Great bike picture!! LOL! =)

Rob Hinton read the whole series and liked it. Travis can ask him about it on Sunday if he wants proof. Also, Tony read the first one and thought it was pretty good (he is in the middle of reading the Prelude To Glory series which he LOVES and was hesitent to take a break to read it, but did). And if that isn't enough guys to back up the fact that your husband just needs to read the books, the bishop in my moms ward read the whole series too and loved it. So there you have it. Get reading Travis! :)

Umm, yeah. Enders Game is my all time favorite book. The whole series is amazing. If Travis needs a synopsis, you know where to find me. ;)

oh, and dude, Travis? don't give in ok? be strong! Aren't the twilight books the ones about some effeminate vampire guy that reminds all the girls of that Leo twit in Titanic? I think you should pass. ;)

...Ok ladies bring on the comments. lol

I love the comments about the Twilight series. I know a few guys that have read it (because their wives asked them to, including mine ;) and others who refuse to touch it. So as far as the swimming goes, they have special pools made with windows in the bottom to catch the different angles, and they also have waterproof cameras that they use that go on a track as you control them with a remote (I've had one of those follow me and they're scary to watch). I'm glad they have so much cool technology because it is so much fun to watch.

Tim - I have no idea what you, or anyone is talking about. I have succumbed to the Twilight books. I am too busy being the perfect mom...okay, you caught me...too busy sleeping in!

I would love to see you when you come here! I'm obsessed with all of your obsessions right now, and I am playing co-ed softball. Crazy huh??

Thanks, Kirstin! Yeah, cameras on a track make a lot more sense. Thanks for setting me straight! Have you read #4?

Allie, I agree. Heidi and I will give you a call. :)

Holli and Kari (and Lisa-make another roadtrip!), I'll call you so we can make a plan. My sister just had her baby girl today and so I know I'll be helping out with her other 4 kids during our visit. I'll let you know when I know what's going on.

Travis, my older brother is actually the one who got me to read the twilight series. He really loved the first and second and wanted me to get into it, so he bought me the 1st book for my birthday 2 years ago. So, yes, guys do read the Twilight series. You'll enjoy it!

Mark also read the whole series and finished before I did and loved them. He even bought The Host and read that because he loves Stephenie Meyer. There are also a lot of hubbys here in IN that have read them too. So I say go for it Travis, you can always put it down if you don't like them, but give it a try!!!!

Wow! You all have some great opinions. I might have to try Enders game first as I have not read it. As for Twilight, Kayelynn might succeed in getting me to at least start the book once the summer is over. :)
