Last Day of School! - Part 2

Back at school, the 5th graders had a special assembly with a slide show of their year together followed by a party/dance.  Just before school was over for the day, the whole school including teachers, kids and parents lined the main hallway to do a "Clap Out" for the graduating 5th grade kids.  Everyone cheered and clapped as these big kids walked single file down the hallway and out the door "to middle school!"  It was such a special display of honor for all of those kids and especially seeing my own child walking those halls for the last time, I couldn't help but get teary.  I'm just so happy for Justin and all he can and will accomplish in his life.

After the "Clap Out", everyone mingled outside for more pictures.  This time we had Tyler and Allie with us to join in on the fun.  Tyler had such a great year with Mrs. Schroeder and Justin enjoyed his time with Miss Haynes.  What an awesome school!

The fun didn't just stop with coming home after school.  First, Justin had a last-day-of-school party at a friend's house.  A big group of his 5th grade friends had a shaving cream war.  So fun!  They were covered!

Tyler and his baseball team had their end-of-season party at a pizza restaurant.  It was fun to watch Tyler accept his baseball trophy and hear the nice compliments from his coaches.  We loved watching Tyler play ball this year!  We are so proud of him for trying his best!

What a great day!  We are excited for both boys to move on to the next grade in September.  Welcome Summer!

Last Day of School! - Part 1

Today was an exciting day for both boys, but one with extra meaning for Justin.  He graduated from 5th grade today.  The school really goes the extra mile to make the day special for the 5th graders.  I have been looking forward to it for weeks just anticipating what a fun and memorable time Justin would have today.  To start it all off, Justin and his classmates were surprised to see their dads dressed up at the school serving them a special last-day-of-school breakfast.

After breakfast, a police vehicle escorted the entire 5th grade as they walked through the neighborhood over to Mitchell Park for a fun morning of minute-to-win-it activities.  I loved helping with the games and it was so fun to have the party right there by our house.  The kids had a great time.  Even when the rain forced a pizza lunch into one of our neighbor's (Steven's house) living room.  A fire truck led the way for the kids to walk back to the school for more festivities.  It was such a great day.  I loved watching Justin have fun with his friends.

Party time!

"Oh oh, I have to go to the party!" Hearing that come out of my 2-yr-old's mouth makes me laugh. Especially when she means to say "potty". I'm not going to correct her mistake...it makes potty training so much more fun for the Mommy!

Triple the fun! Baseball, Dancing and Camping!

Today was a busy day while Travis was out of town with Justin on an 11-yr-old Scouts overnight camping trip.  Tyler had a baseball game to play in and Allie had her first dance recital.  It was such a fun day to see Tyler and Allie having fun with learning a new skill and talent.  I loved to watch them!  I'm so proud of them!  Here are some pictures from our "Triple the fun!" day:
