I can just imagine myself all dressed up

I just have to write these down before I forget...

...Tyler said he just had to wear his hoodie today so "my head won't blow away"!

...He also said today at lunch that he just really wants to move out, be a dad and have some kids. I asked him what he'd do for a job. He said "I'll go to work." Where? "In Oregon, Mom!" Can I come visit? "If you dress up like a grandma, then you can come I guess."

Hi Brother!

Tyler has been putting his hands and face on my belly nearly every day to try to "hear" the baby move. This afternoon, I motioned for him to come over and try to feel her kick. He quietly put his hand on my round belly and she kicked! His eyes just about popped open so wide and he exclaimed, "It's ALIVE! Justin, I heard the baby kick!"

It was so cute! I love it!

We just found out we are having a GIRL!

It's true! We are all so excited! The doctor said she looks healthy and is right where she should be now at 18 weeks as far as development goes. That's what we have been praying for. It was fun to see her moving and opening and closing her lips. I am feeling more movement now, but I have just been feeling a bump here and there. It was great to see how active she really is. We got some good ultrasound pictures and I'll add one to this post as soon as I scan our copies.

This morning, Justin was so happy. He just kept saying how excited he was to find out if we're having a boy or a girl. Before my appointment this morning, we dropped off the boys to play with their cousins at Travis' sister's home in Vancouver. On the way, I said, "This is just like Christmas!" Justin said, "Yeah, this is like a TRIPLE Christmas!" He was just busting at the seams.

When we arrived to pick them up, I said, "Guess what? You are going to have a sister! We found out it's a girl!" Justin smiled and said, "Finally!" Tyler gave a surprised look and fell dramatically to the floor. :) They are both so excited! I'm sure they will be the greatest big brothers in the world.

While I was sleeping...

Back in March, the boys got pretty creative to entertain themselves all day while I was in bed with morning sickness every day. They made this fort and slept in it every night of Spring Break.

Jungle Drum

Hearing that little heartbeat today was just like music to my ears! Hello little baby!

We took Tyler with us to my doctor's appointment. He said the heartbeat sounded like "the baby is drinking milk". Which was pretty much what it sounded like on the Doppler. Rhythmic gulping. It reminded me of this silly song...and I've been so happy all day just thinking about our baby!



Next appointment is the ultrasound. Yay!

Psst...Did you know?

We're having a baby this summer! I'm due in August. We are all so excited! We found out on Christmas morning. A sweet Christmas secret for Travis and I to share as the boys discovered what Santa brought them. I loved that.

We didn't tell the boys until a couple of weeks later. They are so cute about it. Justin is so excited for another baby in our family. Tyler had told me all through December that I had a baby in my tummy. I just laughed and asked him if he knew something I didn't know. That made finding out that I really was pregnant so special. Now Tyler tells me he wants me to have two babies. Oh boy! We shall see about that one...just wishful thinking, I hope.
