Last week, I got out our regular vacuum and Tyler raced over to "help" me. I thought I was in a hurry and didn't have time for more help since he had just "helped" me to sweep the kitchen floor. I surprised myself and bit my lip as he squealed "I do it mine-self!" I let him go for it and I held the cord behind him as he started vacuuming our family room. He was zig-zagging, randomly zooming one end of the room to the next, and bouncing off of the furniture. I was about to cut in when I realized, "I have my very own Roomba! This is great!"
I smiled and stood back to watch in awe as he eventually sucked up all the popcorn and crumbs I was aiming for anyway. With just a little more nudging from me, he'll be a professional in no time! I'm so happy! I'm looking forward to the day when I can just set him loose and I'll never have to vacuum again! Now that sounds too good to be true!

How funny we both wrote about Roombas! I LOVE mine, and used my "own money" to buy it, saved from birthday money and such. It was worth every penny! (I did get it on sale for $249; though it's not the programmable one you're dreaming of.)
I hope you get one someday, but in the meantime keep taking
advantage of that youthful enthusiasm!
Hilarious! I've always wanted a Roomba, too. Hopefully one of my children will be just as enthused about vacuuming . . . that comes in handy!
And a really cute, and smart Roomba at that!
Mmmm, our vacuum is on the fritz. I"ll have to look into that one.
Ahh... I love when they help out. :)
May I hire him?
Isn't it funny how eager kids are to help with chores when they're little? Enjoy it, because the days aren't far off when you'll get a roll of the eyes and a sigh whenever they're asked to help with a household chore. That's the boat we're in with Olivia right now!
