Jury Duty

This morning, I spent 3 hours at the court house waiting to be selected for jury duty. The dreaded day came and it went. I survived! (unlike I had anticipated back in July) There were 8 trials today and I ended up skipping over all of them. The anticipation was the worst part. My card was never pulled. I fulfilled my civic duty and enjoyed reading Breaking Dawn at the same time. I even got to wear this lovely badge all morning.

Nah, it wasn't as painful as I had thought it would be. The worst part was that I thought I was going to be late and would have to come back next week. So I ran most of the way to the courthouse from the parking garage down the street. People must have thought I was so excited that I couldn't wait to get there. After it was all said and done, I felt a tiny twinge of disappointment when they said I could go home. It would have been interesting to see inside one of the courtrooms. Maybe next time.

I had the same experience, I was hoping that I'd get picked but didn't so I enjoyed the time reading and even took myself out to lunch afterwards.

Dont you get paid like 8 bucks a day for doing that? I know when I got summons once I got paid like 8 bucks. LOL... I lost like 50 bucks in pay for a days work. Hooray for doing your civic duty. *Loved Breaking Dawn... movie is coming so soon! :)

I have always wondered what it would be like. But so far, I haven't even made it as far as you have. EVERY SINGLE time I have been asked to serve, I was nursing a kid and couldn't do it. I am sure my turn is just around the corner though. It has been a while since I have gotten a letter.
