Did you know that they bake all their own bakery goods except the french bread? And over 2,000 pumpkin pies a day during the holidays. They can hardly keep them on the shelf.
Tyler was very brave when we walked past all the loud muffin batter mixers, but cried so he wouldn't have to walk into the refrigeration room. Then he was the first of his friends into the freezer room. Go figure. He later told me the refrigerator room smelled funny. (Everything smelled like cake to me. I could have stayed there all day!) After the tour, the baker put the newbies to work frosting cookies. They gave the kids a bunch of colored frosting and sprinkles to create their own masterpieces. I tested out Ty's work and I think I'll send him back to work tomorrow. This is going to be good!
As a side note, Tyler wants to wear his Costco name tag whenever we leave the house. He wore it to weed the yard with me and to pick up Justin from the bus this afternoon "because I'm a baker!" I'll post pictures as soon as my computer gets all set up again.

That's so fun, we'll have to do that fieldtip too. Can't wait for pictures.
Beth, check out the Aloha store. Julie said the new Hillsboro one doesn't offer the same tour.
I am totally going to check into this! Awesome!
What a fun thing to do! I'd be quite interested to know the inner-workings of Costco. Tyler is such a cutie!
That is so cute. I can't wait for the pictures
