What does daylight savings time mean in Portland?
An extra hour of rain.

A newcomer to Portland arrives on a rainy day. She gets up the next day and it's raining. It also rains the day after that, and the day after that. She goes out to lunch and sees a young kid and, out of despair, asks, "Hey, kid, does it ever stop raining around here?"
The kid says, "How should I know? I'm only 8."

"I can't believe it," said the tourist. "I've been here in Portland an entire week and it's done nothing but rain. When do you have summer here?" "Well, that's hard to say," replied the local. "Last year, it was on a Wednesday."

What do you call two straight days of rain in Portland? An average weekend.

What did the Portland native say to the Pillsbury Dough boy?
"Nice tan."

Those are so funny! Sad, but true, I hear the weather had been unusually cold there this time of year.
In college we had a guest speaker from Microsoft. He mentioned that during the previous week they had their first sunny day in something like 56 days and so the entire campus emptied outside to enjoy it.
Someone in the audience had his feelings hurt and he blurted out "well those of us from the Northwest like the rain".
That is really funny. I like rain though, so I would be okay with Portland. It is definitely pretty there, especially along the coast!
Nice post sweetie! It is nice and sunny in California! Now you can't say I never leave a post! :)
Yeah! Travis, you are now officially a blogger! There's no turning back now! Enjoy CA for us! We miss you!
I like the jokes. The one about summer on a Wednesday sounds particularly familiar right now (but maybe Sunday instead).
I would KILL for rain. I guess living in the desert does that to a person.
So funny and sadly true!
All that rain is the price we have to pay to live in this gorgeous place I guess! Since I can't really tan anyway, this is a good place for me to live!
Love the jokes. I'm on board with Lisa. What I wouldn't give for a little rain?! I'd share one from Las Vegas, but most of what makes us famous isn't appropriate in mixed company. K - on a mission to find a good Vegas joke. Keep ya posted.
Oh how I miss it!!
So true, so true. But I wouldn't change a thing. I do love it here. Just think of the fantastic (very white, but fantastic) skin we will all have in our 70's. :)
