This morning I packed up Justin and Tyler and met up with my friends, Kaylynn, Bethany and Kelly, and their kids to caravan to Cannon Beach on the Oregon Coast. The beach is about an hour and fifteen minutes away from our house. I love that it is close enough for us to make a day trip. What's better than a sunny afternoon at the beach?
The kids had a fabulous time playing in the sand all afternoon and trying their luck with some dollar store kites! Justin was so happy to play with his good friend, Aidan, and Tyler was just happy to play with Aidan's trucks.
I was wondering why we don't do this more often. It was so refreshing to get away and to enjoy the SUN! And to end the fun day with a trip to a candy story to buy salt water taffy, who could ask for more?

A family vacation to Cannon beach is still one of my favorite memories when I was a kid. that place was great! And I remember the town had a great pizza place. What kid could ask for more? I am envious, looks like ya'll had a great time!
Man! If I lived that close, I would take a day trip once a week! How fun for you!

I would be in for going with you more often. I really enjoyed it too. Though I would hope for a day without so much wind. Poor Colton got a little burned behind the ears where his hat was supposed to cover but couldn't wear a hat because of the wind.
So I have a wedding to go to this week with family in town, but if you want to go next week, I would be all over that. Talk to you more about it at church. Maybe we could even try another beach. Ruth said she would love to go this time too.
It's tough to beat a day at the beach
Man, oh man do we ever miss the beach, it's killing me to landlocked in teh midwest! Never lived in a lnadlocked state before. The pictures look awesome and sounds like everyone had a blast! Yes, you have to do more often do it for me!!!!
Looks like Tyler had a blast! Sounds like you all did! I'm sooooo jealous! Hopefully we'll be going to the beach this week. :)
