Go Team! Chemo #4

Yesterday my oncologist said he couldn't be happier with my progress.  The MRI scans last week showed better than expected shrinkage and I have been feeling better than expected for this point in my treatments.  Go team!  At the end of each appointment he says, "Let's go kill some cancer cells!"  My doctor is a great cheerleader.  Feeling so blessed to be in good hands at OHSU.

Costume Time!

On Friday night, we dressed up in our Halloween costumes for our church Halloween trunk or treat party.  We had a great time with our friends and the kids loved the trick or treating.  Grandpa Davis even won a prize for his Thai Chicken Soup in the cook-off competition!  Here are our fabulous costume pictures:

Truly Blessed

Today, three friends from our church came to clean our house.  Top to bottom, we wonder if it has ever been this clean.  I was talking to Travis on the phone telling him how the house looked amazing.  "The house is sparkling!," I told him.  Three-year-old Allie put her head close to the phone to add her two cents.  "Daddy," she exclaimed, "our house has sprinkles!"

I am so thankful for wonderful friends and family who have been such a support to our family as I have started chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer.  Things I now don't feel well enough to do for my family are being done by these "angels" in our eyes.  House cleaning, babysitting, meals, phone calls, prayers, gifts, cards, visitors, rides, walking partners, grandparents and even Aunt Tawnya came to town!  

Sparkles AND sprinkles!  Any way you look at it, we have been truly blessed!

Happy 13th Anniversary!

Today is our 13th anniversary!  We definitely needed something exciting to celebrate this week.  Grandpa Davis babysat the kids so Travis and I could slip away to go out to dinner at Cheesecake Factory.  We had a nice, quiet meal together and enjoyed every minute of it.

I have one week until my 2nd chemo treatment and just had surgery last week to have my port placed for a permanent IV line.  So far, so good!  Here is a picture Travis snapped of me during dinner.

I love Travis so much and am so happy to be married to him forever.  It is amazing how when life just stopped on a dime for us, it only solidified what was already so true.  We are still madly in love!

More Family Pictures

The pictures at the park where I am wearing a pink cardigan were taken two days after my first chemotherapy treatment.  We just love how the pictures turned out.  What a blessing to have these priceless memories of our family right now when nothing matters more than just being together.

In anticipation of my upcoming chemotherapy treatments, Travis and I really wanted to update our family pictures.  Our wonderful friend, Kaylynn Matteson, agreed to schedule a special family photo session for us.  We really wanted to capture "us" and think Kaylynn photographed us perfectly.  Thanks so much, Kaylynn!  Here is our happy family:
