Spring Musical

The boys performed today in their spring school musical concert. It is always great to hear them sing their favorite songs from their music classes.

Here is Tyler sitting by his friend, Eddie, with his teacher, Mrs. Davis, sitting behind him.

Where's Waldo...I'm mean Justin? Here's a hint: He's smack in the center looking at the camera.

9 Months

Allie Mai is 9 months old now! Here's her short-list from this week:

1. Crawls everywhere...fast! I hardly get a thing done...I follow her around all day.
2. Claps hands together when I come in to get her out of her crib.
3. Flaps her arms with glee when I start to carry her out into the garage. She loves to be outside.

4. Nuzzles back into my shoulder when a stranger tries to talk to her.
5. Squawks when I walk into the "wrong" room when she really just wants to follow her brothers or dad.

Oh, I love this little girl!

Spring Soccer

Justin had such a great time playing soccer last Fall, he decided to play soccer this Spring instead of baseball. We are happy he is excited about it! We have enjoyed watching him play two days each week.

This is a picture of Justin after he saved the ball by bouncing it off of his knee. He was so happy to give a play-by-play to this teammates. I just love the expression on his face!

Here he is with his buddy, Shawn. Justin knows most of the boys on his team from school or from other sports teams he has been on. Travis helped out with Justin's soccer team whenever his coach needed him this season. Travis and I like meeting other parents through sports each year and then bumping into them at the boys' school. Our circle of friends has grown so much through being involved in the boys' activities.

Visit with Grandma and Grandpa

We enjoyed a long weekend visit with my parents this weekend. We love to have them come out to Oregon to visit! The boys were off of school for Thursday and Friday for parent/teacher conferences. It was fun for them to show off their school and classrooms to Grandma and Grandpa on Thursday morning. Later that evening, they watched Justin during his soccer practice and Tyler play in his t-ball game. While all the boys went camping on Friday and Saturday, we girls relaxed at home. We went on a long walk, chatted through a lazy afternoon on the front porch and played with Allie. It was heavenly. These pictures were taken on Sunday after church before we headed off to the airport. Come again soon!

Father and Son Campout with Grandpa Davis

The boys felt so lucky to have Grandpa Davis join them on the Father & Son Campout with Travis. Our ward camped out at the Boy Scout Camp Merriweather on the Oregon Coast...by way of the Tillamook Cheese Factory for lunch and an ice cream cone.

Tyler loved that they camped in the "Vikings" campground since we had just watched "How to Train your Dragon".

It was an absolutely gorgeous location on a private beach. I think I'm ready to become a Boy Scout!

These were the steps leading back up to the campsite from the beach.

They stopped along the road to Cape Lookout to watch these para gliders.

Then they stopped at the Tillamook Cheese Factory again on the way home. Lucky ducks! So glad you all had so much fun on your awesome campout!

It's a wonderful life!

Why do I always insist on an impromptu photo shoot on Mother's Day? Because even though I know they won't be perfect, these pictures remind me that life is sweet with my kiddos. Crazy, silly faces and all. And it makes me laugh to think of Travis perched in the bush taking these pictures!

I love you Justin, Tyler and Allie!

See what I mean?

Allie crawled across the room tonight!!!! She just took off after a little basketball. No one-sie,two-sie,three-sie for her. She just hit the floor CRAWLING! The very first time. Right before bed, too. Everyone was almost too excited to go to sleep.

Wowsers! I wonder what she will do tomorrow???

You go girl!

I don't want to blink or I might miss something. Allie is changing so quickly. I jotted down her new "achievements" as Justin called them tonight:

Allie cut tooth #6 yesterday.

She started clapping both hands together this week.

Today she moved on her own from all fours to a sitting position.

Yesterday she tried to eat a leaf from our artificial tree, chewed on Tyler's headphones and sucked on a piece of tape...I'm officially on floor patrol now!

Ouch!

Tyler was making a "blending" machine over the weekend. He told me he needed a refridgerater box like Curious George had. Then the light dawned on me...a vending machine. As the boys were cutting the big box to make a slot for coins, Tyler got knocked in the face with scissors. It chipped his new front tooth. Travis and I didn't know it had even happened until I noticed his tooth looked different to me last night. I asked him if he had been biting on something hard that had hurt his tooth. He innocently answered, "Just the ice cream last night." After some prodding, we found out what had happened. Now I can see that this was actually a blessing the scissors hit his tooth. It could have been much more serious if he had been poked in the eye or somewhere else. By this morning Ty's tooth was too sensitive to even want to drink anything for breakfast. I called the dentist and got him right in. He'll get it fixed in two weeks.

Tyler - "If I was in the royal wedding, I'd be Harry."
